What would a Laeger narrow frame with CR 500 Swing arm, CR500 Elka shock, CR 500 linkage, Laeger head stay be worth?

I believe it is a 97-98frame with no cracks or welds.

I would want to use my Gibson +3 LT A-arms with Axis front shocks? Would this work? Is there a special steering stem that would need to go with it?

Im assuming this will be a heck of an upgrade over my stock frame with stock linkage.

Im racing MX and need some more rear suspension. And my reinforced stock frame is starting to fall apart everywhere.

Thanks

Worth and asking price are completely different, but IMO a 97 age frame should breakdown as follows:

Frame/swingarm : $1000 tops
Rear shock : $350

$1300-$1500 for that package.

Yes, if it's a narrow frame you will need a special steering stem or will need to modify yours that you already have. It's not that drastic, they just don't use a Nut at the end, it's a threaded bolt and washer.

Your LT +3 a-arms would work, but would now be +2 and the shocks may or may not need to be lengthened or shortened if you go back to +3 (+4) a-arms.

If it's worth that to you, go for it, but I don't think it's worth that.

You could probably buy a complete quad for $4-5K

Is that the one on ebay? Bear81?

its on ebay in several parts.

i dont remember the screen name of the seller. But i asked him for the basic hardware as a pakage deal.

I dont know what its worth to me. But im deff not about to let myself get screwed by paying to much for something.

What you could do is buy 8686's frame
and then piece the other parts together.

I think he wants $1000 shipped. You could offer less on the swingarm on ebay. A linkage can be bought from partouts for $50-60.

Rear shock you can get yours converted if it's axis or elka for probabaly $200-$300.
It needs a shaft, clevis and revalve.

You'd only be into the setup for about $1500-1700.

There are a couple standard link laegers on craigslist, but you'd need them shipped or something depending on where you are, but they are economical compared to that setup.

Ya the problem with people fresh painting parts before they sell is that it makes no difference to me. Im going to strip it and make it the color i like. But regardless.

Im kinda worried about damage to the frame 8686's. I dont know if its enough to wory about or not. Its tough when your spending that kinda money.

Thanks for the help guys.

The "damage" is nothing to be concerned about whatsoever. A dent on the lower frame rail and one motor mount repaired. Not out of the ordinary. It's a nice used frame at a good price. Feel free to pm me if you're interested. My zip is 48041 in MI. Tim.

Also, there is no vin plate on my frame, but I do know it is a 2001-up due to the increased gusseting in certain areas. Or at least I'm 99% sure. :)

I have bought a few nice items from Tim (8686) and I could only say he is one of the nicest guys around. I 100% trust what ever he says and I would defiantly buy from him again. I do believe he has the cheapest prices around. Tim has taken alot of his own time to help me with my Laeger CR500 linked build.
