Is there any such thing as the accelerator pump sticking or hanging??Because at 3/4 to full throttle, the throttle hang's or stick's BAD.
What I have is a 87 250x/350x hybrid, I'm running a 400ex carb.

What my problem is, from idle to wide open throttle it work's great somtime's .And then other time's I can give it throttle from idle and some where around 3/4 throttle it will hang. But I can let off the throttle and it will go back to idle no problem. But when I throttle it back up to around 3/4 throttle it will hang again. but I can push((by forcing it)) the throttle on through the hard spot and it will open up. Was your's doing this??

This is more then likley at cable issue or u need to clean your carb slide or something. Does the thumb throttle get stuck in a certain position also??

I took the carb off, and the center slide(I don't know what it is called) is a little ruff (galled some)this maybe my problem. How can I fix it without screwing it up?? SandPaper??I know it need's to work in a close tolerance.

*get stuck in a certain position*
just around 3/4 to wideopen is all.

no mine wasnt doing this mine was sucking air from the gasket on the accel pump area on the bowl.. i dont see why alil sand paper would hurt but dont get too carried away and clean the carb and cables real good when your done..

Try to get somekind of lube in your throttle cable, and let it drain down into it, and work it back and fourth. Spray the slide with carb cleaner and work the throttle by hand on the carb open and closed a bunch of times. If the carb is moving freely its prolly ur cable.

Thank's for the help..When I bought the throttle cable I sprayed WD40 in it but it has been a while. I'm going to use a 1000 or 1200 grit sandpaper on the slide to clean it back up.That will hopfully fix the problem.Well I'm going to see what I can do.Thank's again!!
