Got 450r carb on ended up with 182 m 3 notch on needle 53 pilot 3 turns out but still have decel pop way down low. I have new 416 11-1 stage 2 cam potted head k&n filter should I go to 55 pilot seemed big to me and most of you guys have no bigger than 52

I run a 195 for the pilot, but I cant remember what the other one is.

Do you really??? they make em that big??? or are you runnin a 195 main???

I’ve ran as high as a 205 when I was testing. So yes they come that big. I just cant remember what the other one is. The carb I got had a 185 in it and all I did was change the main till my plug looked good. I didn’t need to mess with anything else. She runs great where it’s at now. It started popping on decell when I got over 200 on the main jet.

What does a stock 05 450 carb come with? If the 185 it had when I got it is stock then the pilot jet should be stock because I didn’t change that one..

are you sure you have the hot start blocked off correctly? I had the same problem your having and figured out I had an air leak. If you turn down your idle all the way and it stays running, you have an air leak through the hot start

he has an issue somewhere with it, a 182 in a 416 is quite big

mid 170s would be a maximum imo, thats pushing a full exhaust with an open lid and a port job.

a 52 pilot at around 3 turns out should get the idle pretty nice and running then needle on the 3rd notch would be where i start.

I don’t have it in my sig but I run a 416 ported, stage 2 cam, stock head pipe (welds ground) with WB slip on and a 450 carb with a 195 main jet and the lid off the air box with a stock foam filter and she runs great. She’s been that way for years with no issues.

I have power bomb header Hmf muffler open airbox I did the go big method I went up to k190 where it sputtered at wot so went to 185 and quit sputtering so I put 182 in runs great just alittle decel pop when I'm slowing down but I have to be going pretty slow. I'm going to try 180 tomarrow. With stock carb same mods I had a k178 and no decel pop 42p 2 1/2 af ran great

Oh and yes I got adapter dim thanks Steve. I got aluminum today going to chuck it in lathe tomarrow after i clean shop. I have a PVC one on there now I turned last week for a temp one
