oil line ?

Can someone tell me what the oil line from the rocker box to the oil tank is for? The only thing I can come up with is over flow.... I am going to be putting a inline oil termo switch for a fan and I'm trying to decid what line.

Thats a breather line If I recall.

Yep, well crankcase vapors. No oil in there under normal circumstances.
