Bad PC 5?

Any one ever get a bad power commander 5? I took my bike to a tuner and they said it could not be tuned, most likely due to a bad unit. The engine RPM was reading right and the power commander RPM was jumping all over the place making it impossible to tune. Any thoughts?

you might check and make sure it doesn't need a Firmware update.

I had a pc3 fry a transistor but not a pc5.
