racing question

i wasnt sure what the appropriate forum was for this question but my 300ex is the bike im talking about. so i now have a slip on pipe, jet kit, and air filter. my question is has anyone ever noticed a difference in their bikes performance with the spark arrestor removed and the air box lid taken off after theyve installed these parts. i do not want to leave the air box lid off all the time because when i ride trails and stuff i dont want to get stuff in the airbox (mud, water, etc) so i want to know if it is even worth it to remove it at the track. every bit of power helps so if u have noticed a difference let me know.

I assume your talking about MX. Yes it's worth it. Every little bit you can gain helps. Make sure you jet it with the lid off and if you are running a slip on then most likely you don't have a spark arrester.

I have it jetted and I have a DG RACE slip on with the removable spark arrester, I currently have it out but it made it louder which I didn't want cause it already annoyed the neighbors :D. So does the spark arrestor make a significant difference? If not I'll put it back in.
