i have a 06 drr50 that i can't get to start. I just put a new oem carb and moved the old jets over from old carb. everything is clean. put new plug in it. it has spark, but can't get it started. i have ridden it with new carb but one day it wouldn't start and i haven't been able to start it since. any ideas? thanks

Compresion could be low might need a piston and ring or at least a ring. Helped a guy at the track last weekend with same problem your having. Had good spark and fuel.

put a new plug in it and some starting fluid and it fired right up. rode it for about an hour today and when i brought it home, it wouldn't start again. might be time for a top end?

my sons 07 drx50 quit on him one night after his first moto..couldn't get it started..fought n fought n fought with different stuff..come to find out, when i unloaded off the trailer i hit the pull out kill switch in the back by the grab bar,and it fell off after he pulled into the pits..never even thought to look at it till a week later, and countless trial and error fixes..LOL, it's always the simple things

Another tool you'll need is a compression gauge. At about 70PSIG the two stroke should not kickstart.
Then again a plugged exhaust port or exhaust pipe from too much premix oil can cause this problem. Also a bad crankshaft seal. Poor electrical connections, spark plug cap being bad, a bad tether switch, and the list goes on.
Does it ever miss or pop when it does run?
