Iam trying to decide which of these to do. I mostly trail ride, but may enter a few xc races this summer. So which would be better new works steelers or 400ex a arms and shocks.
thanks

Do the conversion. I did it on my 250X and loved it. You'll have longer shocks and more stability. Plus, down the road you can put long travels with 19" shocks if you so desire. I just put Houser +2 LT a-arms(for 16" shocks) on mine and it looks sweet. Don't limit yourself- go with the conversion. Just my opinion. The kit I used was from ATV Racing in AZ. Check their website, www.atvracing1.com. Go to the a-arms section, there's a description of the kit about 3/4 of the way down the page.

Do the conversion. I done it on a 300ex and loved it. You can always put 400ex length aftermarket shocks on it later.

Why not do the conversion and run your original shock mounts and use works steelers for the 300EX. That's what I did, it sits lower handles great.

well, if you've got the money to buy some works, just get some 400ex a-arms and tie rods for real cheap, then buy some custom lenght shocks from works.
