A guy from work was having trouble with the jetting on his RoadStar and asked me to come look at it (he thinks I know what I'm doing. LOL) so I went over and looked at it. Anyway, we went to the dealer to get another jet, and we walked in through the shop and this caughy my eye as soon as I walked through the door.

It's an '88 with Roll Design front end, Custom Axish shocks front and rear, PC 2000 top end, AC nerfs, wider axle (not sure of brand), Tag T2 handlebars....and I'm sure I'm missing something. It still had the stock plastic and seat on it, and they both looked to be in VERY good shape. The bike as a whole looked like it was VERY nice and well taken care of. Mostly stock other than the bolt ons too. They must have saw me looking at it and drooling, because one of the guys that works there said "That guy wants to sell that thing. He brought it to us to have it serviced and then he wants to sell it." They said they THOUGHT he wanted $4,200 for it. I got his name and number, I was gonna call him later and get more details.

Is that over at Sport Time? Wonder what bore size the cylinder is?

Yep, sure is. I don't know anything about it. I meant to call the guy today but I got busy and never did.

OK, I just called and talked to the guy selling this quad. He said he found it on Ebay, and bought it from a guy in Missourri. He said it had sat in a storage unit from 1990-2001 (as near as he could remember) and it had around 10 hours on it since he'd bought it. He bought it for his teenage daughter to ride, and they'd made 3-4 trips to the dunes with it. He said the cylinder was stock bore as far as he knew. I asked what his price was and he said $4,500. He said he has not listed it on Ebay, but he felt like if he did that it would be pretty easy to get that kind of money for it. He said anybody that's seriously interested is welcome to meet up with him and ride it.

If I could afford it at the moment, I'd probably buy it myself. It looked to be all stock except the PC2000 cylinder, pipe and silencer, handlebars, front end, front and rear shocks, bumper, nerfs, axle, front wheels/tires, and possibly rear wheels/tires. It still had the white tubes running to the airbox, still had the on/off/headlight switch, stock plastic and seat were in GREAT shape, and overall it just looked VERY well taken care of.

Just FYI, Loren etched the bottom of the intake side with a serial number, bore size, buyer name, and purchase date. There is great information on DRI's website on the newer and older styles of the PC2000 top ends. It looks nice, but is overpriced in my opinion and experiences. It does look like a clean bike though, would probably take the head off to see what bore is at and if someone reworked the cylinder.

I kind of thought it was overpriced myself, that's the reason I haven't even cruised up there to check it out. Looks to be in pretty good shape but probably would be hard to sell locally when everyone is driving an hour away and buying new 450's for that price from Southern Honda.
