I need to replace the rockers in my 300ex valve cover and I cannot figure out how to get the old ones out. Does anyone have any experience doing this. I feel like an idiot!!! I can split the cases and work on the transmission and put everything back together, but this has me stumped!!!

Thanks everyone.

You need to remove the dowel pins, they go through the rocker shafts to hold them in. I just removed some so I can send my rockers to get hardwelded, they were a pain in the butt. As a last resort I welded a piece of rod to the top to creat a T, hooked a slide hammer to it and pulled them. Have to order new dowels now.

Heat the surface around the dowel pin with a torch( Just a little not a lot). Put some vice grip's on the dowel pin then hit the vicegrip's with a hammer. Should slide right out. Then slide the rocker shaft out of your rocker.

Yea, I tried that with this one, didn't work. I think the PO ran it without oil and over heated the top end. But that is what I was told also, "should pull out with vise grips".
