Save your money on the K&N lid.

Get a Uni filter, and do this instead...

Uhmmmm,..... Yeah,...
But as long as you do not confuse your quad with a Submarine, you should be ok.

I guess it's really true. Some lightbulbs just burn a little brighter than others.

Here's another tip,
Never go swimming, wearing concrete swimfins....

^ lol

But to the original post: I can't see the K&N Power Lid to be anymore effective than the stock lid with holw and a prefilter attatched over it..

I have never used one but my friend has 2 and loves them 1 on his trx450 and 1 on his z400. It did improve the throttle response and change the sound a bit.

LEAVE YOUR FILTER AND BOX STOCK UNLESS YOU BUILD YOUR BIKE...BUY A PIPE OR SOMETHING THAN DO SOME MODS TO IT. ID DO WHAT HE SAID WITH CUTTING IT OR ID JUST BUY A K&N LIKE I HAVE AND RUN NO LID. HAVE NEVER HAD A PROB YET. TILL THAN KEEP IT STOCK!:D

When you have that one under control,...
You can graduate to something like this,...

http://i111.photobucket.com/albums/n148/tri5ron/Emoticons%20and%20funny%20pics/IMG_9308.jpg

Then,...
Once you have mastered that,...
You'll be ready for the "Big Time", and you can move up to this...

And once you've got some seat time in,...
You will be ready to Ride with the Pro's,
and you can grab a hand full of this bad boy...

Unless the bikes modified engine wise then adding a powerlid will do jack nothing but sound louder. You need a pipe, a cam, jetting and such to really take advantage of the extra air intake.

That being said I have an outwears lid, not like the one ron has thats velcro'ed tho. Mine is an EHS outwears lid where you cut the top of the box, sandwich the outwears material in between the lid and a metal bracket they supply. It works super well, the material is quite water resistant and it added power for me b/c I have all the mods to support it.

I have had three of them over the years on different quads and it runs like there is no lid. I needed something to protect since I race cross country and and I have never sucked in any water with this setup and have been in water up to the top of the airbox. I highly recommend the EHS lid.

Outerwears ftw. Repels water but lets air pass and low maintenance. Best option for a trail rider.
