I need some jetting help with 450 carb. I have a stock motor, 04/05 450 carb, HMF slip-on, K&N airfilter and K&N airbox lid. I'm riding at sea level.

Currently I have it jetted 158 main, I haven't done anything with the needle, so it still at the stock setting.

My issue is if a riding and hit the throttle hard (3/4 throttle) (second gear) it boggs down.

Should I go with a larger jet? Or would I need to adjust the needle, if so which way?

Thanks

I have basically the same setup but I'm in Ohio ( not sure on elevation ) and I'm running a 168 main 50 pilot stock needle and 2 1/2 turns out on f/a screw.I would say you are on the lean side and that's why your getting the bog up top
