lol sorry just figured i would bring that back tonight.

plenty of xc topics on the 400 forum.
+1 arms with shocks to match
axle to match the width
stage 1 cam
razr 2s
skid plates
14/39 gearing for the woods
nerfs
kill switch

that should get you a couple of grand into it

I race harescrambles. I did 450r shocks up front revalved by gt thunder and the xc link. mine is low budget. I dont have all those fancy a arms and what not. mine is stock length stock width. I dont race all the time but ive raced about 6 or 7 races over the past 2 years. Ive got a 1st place and a couple second place wins in vet c.
Biggest thing you can do for yourself is conditioning. exercise lots of cardio and a balanced diet. Its not necessarily the machine, its the rider.

Prm skid plates, 6 ply tires good suspension, and a solid motor. I built a nice 416 last year and it really performs well.

I dont know how to post pics, but I can email you a pic if you like.

I race xc,i found the best setup is aftermarket shocks (redone for xc and your weight, Dont buy tires setup for mx in any way and make sure they are atleast a 6 ply,Fasst Flexx handlebars if you wanna spend the money,Steering Stabilizer, Curtis Sparks full exaust, Hydraulic Clutch, dont buy a-arms that are 1" or over, Quadtech Seat,Pro Armour Pegs (just so your feet get better gripping, properly jetted carb,Uni filter, that should do you just right, alot of money to set it up,but for me with no motor work, that would be my perfect setup

i dont race xc but have narrow trails around my area so the stock arms and axle have to stay on. plus with 4 inches on each side with 2s it wouldnt fit on the trailer with the other machines lol.

thats always an option. :D the 440 is done and such now, i have r just about done now with the addition of the new fenders and the seat cover. i wont buy any more stuff for that either.

the sleds will be done soon too, i need a different track for the 800 for out west this coming spring and then they will be done. the rest of the maintenance items are finished on both.

its only money, you cant take it with you when you die. so you might as well spend it while you can.

sorry for the interruption lol

what did you decide to go with?

Thats alright i think im gonna get +1 LSR A-Arms, +2 LSR Swingarm (maybe but i dont need it), +1 LSR Axle, 450r Front Shocks, Full Curtis Sparks X-6 Big Core Exhaust, Stage 2 DynoJet kit, K&N Filter with Outerwears Wrap, Pro Armor Skids and Kill Switch, Maxxis RAZR Tires on DWT Rims, and watever else i decide to put on

That sounds pretty good to me but i dont no, wat do u guys think?

i think unless you want alot of top end the sparks will be a bit much for an xc machine. I would go with the stock header with a smaller diameter to help low end performance out a bit more compared to a big diameter header.

other than that, thats a great list!

Good list, dotn bother with dynojets. Buy keihin jets from www.jetsrus.com dyno jets just dont work properly on hondas, I been there done that and it runs 100X better with keihins.

id also do a +1 1/4" swinger instead of 2 and get your shocks revalved for your weight and riding style. Getting the rear shock worked right will eliminate the bouncing and bottoming on hard whoops and stuff-the swinger will also help that.

You will also want to look up on ebay "custom cnc stablizer" as mentioned here-well worth it and the next item I SOOO wanna buy http://www.exriders.com/vbb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=349366

other than that I think you got a good list. Agree with steve, do a slip on, sparks has to much topend imho.

id also suggest a stage 1 hotcam (can be found on ebay cheap!). Mine is VERY nice although I have a stage 2 due to my hi-comp piston-tons of power all around.

i thought that you had previously stated you were going to go higher comp, thus the stage 2. i got confused with another post.

if you leave it stock internals, go stage 1.

yea they are alright, they got all heim joints but personally I'd rather have sealed ball joints for trails/xc racing. I traded for the a-arms so I couldnt really say much. they are +2+1's and I found me some 4:1 offset wheels to go with em so they are not really to wide for the trails.
