looking at an 09 left over z

local dealer has a 2009 suzuki 400z wants 5250, not sure if this is a good price or not and do not know alot about the suzukis. how do they work for hare scrambles, what needs to be modified replaced improved etc. whats good, whats bad? I am currently winning my class on a 07 400ex with decent suspension and mildly mod motor. any thoughts are appreciated Bill

I have seen and heard of 2009 YFZ450r left overs going for $5500-6000.
Depends on how much of a quad you want and spend. For a little more you can find a left over 2010 YFZx..? You might have to add a few mods to get it race ready, but you wouldn't need any motorwork.

Depends on how fast you want to go. Tires, nerfs, exhaust, pc, skidplates, and bars would get you started. I run the atvmotion xc series here in ok and place top 3 with my ltz in the intermediate class against the 450's (ktm & honda's mostly). One guy in the expert runs an 09 with the mods above and does well. It's more about the rider then anything.
I saw a used 09 ltz go for 3000 on ebay a few months ago

Not trying to hijack your thread buy I have an 09 for sale $3500. GT thunder suspension/link, flex bars, tag belly skid, prm swingarm skid, pro design intake, pro armor tether cord, Rath number, dg grab bar.

Was recently torn down to frame and chassis was built top to bottom. Motor still runs strong. Boil changed every 2 hours and air filter cleaned ever ride. Very clean bike.

Only reason I'm selling is I have an ltr now and done need and can't afford 2 bikes right now.
