I have some parts from an old dir bike I am restoring that i'm needing coated. All of it is either factory paint or its just bare aluminum. Also is gold metalic the only shade of gold you have? Do you have any other pictures of any golds? I'm looking for something close to an anodized gold look. Here is what im needing.

front and rear hubs off an xr 80 - Gold
Rear shock linkage off an xr80- Gold
Triple clamps and bar clamps off a kx85 - Gold
Swingarm off an xr80 - Gloss black
14" rear wheel - Gloss black
17" front wheel - Gloss black
Sprocket - Gloss black

Just wondering what kind of prices im looking at for these parts. I have all the bearings and seals removed I just need to box everything up and ship it out next weekend when im home. If you don't have anything else in gold I will go with the gold metalic.

Check http://www.columbiacoatings.com/category_s/129.htm

They offer other golds (not through columbia) but the ones ive used in all honesty didnt look much different. This is the gold we use to match honda gold. I clear the parts as its a tad flat if not, but I will see what they look like (anodized might be better not cleared)

front and rear hubs off an xr 80 - Gold $45
Rear shock linkage off an xr80- Gold $20 (geuss do to size?)
Triple clamps off a kx85 - Gold $30
Swingarm off an xr80 - Gloss black $35
14" rear wheel - Gloss black $30
17" front wheel - Gloss black $30

Prices sound good to me. I will try and get them out next weekend when im back home. Ill leave a list in the box for you. The linkage and the rear hub are a little rusty but it should blast off easy. If it gives you and trouble feel free to charge me for it. Thanks!

I'm getting ready to box everything up now and I will ship it out monday. I put a rear sprocket and motor mounts in there also. I will edit my list with every part I have in the box.

I left the motor mount out but the rear sprocket is in there. Also I have the actual bar clamps for the triple clamps in the box as well to be done in gold also. Should have 2 boxes coming your way. Also the rear hub is also a brake drum I think you can blast the inside but don't coat it. I'm sure you know what to do.
Thanks again!

Pappy you might check the front hub. I ordered a new bearing kit for it and it came with 3 bearings. I only remember pulling 2 bearings out of the hub. If i left one in there im sorry. You can pitch it I wont be needing it. Thanks.

Good I reckon, I havent been home long enough to see the progress on the stripping. Cody was having issues with something but i have no idea what job it was:ermm:

No issues with your parts..Cody wanted to verify not to blast the chrome rim LOL. He's learnin:D

We have been blasting in small batches...so hot that the compressor overheats after 30 minutes....but we are working on the parts.

Thanks for the update. Do you know if you found a bearing in that front hub? I'm puzzled on that one. I swear I only pulled 2 bearings out but the guys at the shop keep telling me they take 3. Yeah that rim is brand spanking new. Cheaper to buy a brand new OEM rim and powdercoat it than to buy a powdercoated one from excel.

Sorry to bug you. Just wondering if you had any idea when you would be done. I got a table full of parts ready to be slapped on haha.

I believe the only part im waiting on to come back from stripping is the swinger. I would say sometime this week I should have you done.

Ive got to look at that hub to see if there is a bearing, ive meant to everytime I walk in the shop LOL

I did not see any bearong in either hub. How does your set up compare to a microfishe?

It only uses 2 bearings. The kit is for other bikes also so i'm assuming its more of a universal bearing kit. Thanks for checking for me though.
