Steering stem play? Need advice quick!

I have a new lonestar stem, new bearing, seals and collar. When all together and tightened there is a little bit of play when u pull up on the bars. It appears the bearing is moving. Is there a fix for this? Has anyone had this problem?

How much play? there should be none up and down. There should be a c clip retainer that holds the bottom bearing from up and down play...

There is a little up and down play, maybe an 1/8" or less but I figured there shouldn't be any. Everything is new including clip. Maybe the frame itself is wore?? What should I do?

Yeah, you should have no play. If its all correctly installed and there is still slop, try to figure out if the frame is the issue...I would measure the amount of play and try to find a taller bearing from a bearing shop to take up some slop. I wouldnt try to rig something like a shim because safety is involved. Good luck.
