hey guys i wanna put a honda throttle on my YFZ, is there a certain honda throttle i should use? 400ex and trx450r the same or what? some guys say to use a ex lever and 450r housing, so whats my best option?

the 90 has a easier leverage and a little longer thumb lever but the ex either 300 or 400 is a very common swap out.. I wouldn't use the 450 its housing is to big for my preference

just make sure you get WOT you might have to open the housing and grind down the stop a little

You have a couple of options for this. I run a 450r throttle with a TRX90 lever on my 07 YFZ.

Choice one: 04-05 TRX450R throttle housing with 04-05 throttle lever or TRX90 throttle lever

or................

choice two: Any TRX400EX throttle with throttle lever or TRX90 throttle lever.

or..............

choice three: Run a 06+ throttle and lever.

YOU CAN NOT RUN A 06+ 450R throttle housing with a TRX90 throttle lever.

thanks airmoble thats just the answer i needed, got a question though, is there advantage using a 450r throttle housing over an ex? just seems i can find more ex throttles and for a cheaper price, also how much difference is a trx 90 thumb lever compared to the ex?

Your gonna find plenty of 400EX throttles since they are more abundant compared to a 04-05 Honda. The TRX90 throttle lever is longer than a 400ex or 450r throtle lever,so your able to get more leverage on that.
