sparks is the best hands down, hmf is very good as well if you can score an fmf titanium 4 they are also good, i would have to say after having all of them the sparks is my favorite.

Good buy... I suggest getting a K&N or similar aftermarket air filter and a slip-on exhaust. Don't upgrade internals until you know that you can use the quad to its potential... I've been riding my 400ex for almost 10yrs and I am just now really able to take advantage of ever HP available..

I agree with trailrider, get you a pipe and a good filter, ive started using k&n and if theyre properly oiled they dont pass dust by, plus they flow better. If you need a quiter pipe go for a lexx from rockymountainatv.com, or if you can use a loud one deffinetly get a sparks or HMF. Sparks also makes a +6 timing key that would be nice for your bike since its stock. Then focus on your suspension. A good mod is 450r front shocks. Get them sprung for your weight, do the back one too and you'll have a nice riding machine. Then get a nice axle and a-arms. Then go for the internal work.

Dont even bother with the dynojet kit, they dont work properly on keihin carbs like the 400ex uses.

www.jetsrus.com has the proper jets and cheaper than dynojet junk.

Whats the conversions from DynoJet back to stock style jets? I wanna make the switch back like you recommened in my thread, just looking for some help... Although i might be going to the 450r carb...

the 04-05 keihin 450r carb is a larger carb and increases the amount of fuel and air intake into your head. Thus-more performance.

IE: You have a 1 or 2 barrel carb on a car and go to a 4 barrel and get WAY more power and performance.

Its well worth the upgrade, just takes a bit of time to make it work as you will need an adapter (or dremel out the inside the airbox tube) to fit the airbox tube, move a vent and plug a hole, plug the hotstart and run a 450R carb cable. Plus it needs to be jetted-thankfully it uses the same jets as the 400ex carb.
