What are these 1987 plastics worth? Plastics only. There are no cracks at all and all of the mounts are good. They do have the surface spider webing that is so common. I see crazy prices on ebay for plastics like this but that doesn't mean that they will sell for that asking price on a 30 day listing and it does not tell me what they might be worth to a fellow forum member. Also how do you guys prepare these for shipping? I may have some fullbore packaging here within the next couple of weeks but without that how do you guys do it?

I'd suggest CL, shipping on those are a killer. If you do decide to ship them, a commerical address will help alleviate some costs. Otherwise, sell them locally.

They could be worth a lot - relatively speaking, but odds are it will cost more to ship than people are willing to pay so my suggestion is to just keep them.

If you ever need them, they are there, if you ever want them back, they don't cost anything and if you ever sell your quad it makes it worth more - to the right buyer.

They may be worth $300, but shipping may cost upwards of $200 so you only get $100. I see people asking $500 + for fenders, but nobody seems to be paying that for used stuff unless it's mint shape.

Realistically, $250 picked up. Most people won't pay more for weathered used stuff just cause it's OEM than it would cost to buy new Maier.

The box my full bores came in will fit both front and rear plastics. I don't think it will be $200 to ship. Just ask the buyer for a commercial address, it saves quite a bit on shipping costs. ;)

Road trip. You can go see Micky while your here.
I don't know what I will do for sure. I don't really need them any more but if I am not tempted I could just cut and scratch them up around here instead of the new fullbores that are on the way. I guess I may box them up when I get the fullbore box and do some shipping quotes to see what it would take to ship them. The hood will not be for sale unless I sell the plastics.

I been thinking about white plastics. If they were 89 with the headlight hood, I would totally be up for a little day trip to Cali...

The box my Maiers came in was 16 x 29 x 40. It had front and rears in it. FYI for UPS quotes.
In the midwest we have a regional carrier called Speedee that ships these big boxes without the high dimensional fees.
Buslines have reasonable rates sometimes, but the receiver would have to pick it up at their local bus terminal.

I am not sure at the moment. I may take some photos this weekend with the seat and mounting gromets removed and post them for sale on the local craigs list. I guess I will start at $350.00 locally being that there won't be any freight and drop as needed every 3 or so days but at the moment I do not know what they are worth. When I get my fullbore box and can box them up to get shipping costs I will move more forward with selling them and list them in the correct classified section. Bottom line is that I don't need them and will probably be selling them for whatever someone wants to pay for them. I like the idea of restoring them but I don't have the time or patience to do it.
Thanks
