First time installing a PVL, I'm 99% for sure I followed the instructions. We have a Stage 6 crank and Malossi PVL. The instructions said to put the key in the crank shaft did that, put base plate on only two of the holes centered it, then put rotor on aligned with key, now put stator on(loosely) put my gauge on cyl, found top dead center. NOW here's where I'm messed up my lines are over a 1/4 off of the bolt holes when turning the stator to line up with the hub. So what do I need to look at??? It does say turn until dial indicator marks 2.25mm from TDC, my indicator is in thousandths I believe, isn't this approx 10 thousandths??? Sorry so long just wanted to give as much details.

Also how do you research three letter words thanks

Not a real good pic but I think you can get the idea, if you need a better one let me know

Have two Stage 6 Digital PVL's and NEVER use the woodruff key. Stage 6 cranks on both

Install ours in following manner:

1. Mount Base plate with two bolts
provided

2. Mount stator loosely with the three
bolts centered

3. Find Top Dead Center and then set
required advance YOU HAVE THE
MATH WRONG. You will need 88.58
thousandths to get 2.25 mm
advance

4. Line timing marks up between the
inner rotor and the stator

5. Push inner rotor onto shaft with
the alignment as close as possible

6. Use a deep socket and tap the
inner rotor onto shaft to secure

7. Tighten nut with impact gun

8. Check advance aginst timing marks
and adjust accordingly

9. Tighten stator bolts

Go burn gas

I hear ya on the math wrong that should be .087 THou. That using the standard MM *.039 to get the desired thousandth.

thanks guys I got it, not for sure where I heard those number from before, oh well. You talk about some serious throttle response off the bottom end, WOW!!!
