quck 400ex queston about petckcock

ok so on the plastic it says that to turn the gas on the arrow has to be pointing down, but behinds the plastic on the actual petcock it says that to turn the gas on it has to point up. anyone know which way its supposed to be

I never took notice to what's on the actual petcock but I've been riding quads since I was maybe 7 or 8 and all of those quads the arrow has always faced down.

Arrow up is reserve, arrow down is on.
