Make sure its pressed on all the way and tighten the clamp. What kind of filter is it? Maybe its the wrong filter and the clamp area is too big.

Weird. I have a K&n too on my bike and I never had that problem. Do you have a stock airbox?

Make sure there isn't any air filter oil on any of the clamping parts, i've had it slip off once or twice..

Is there some type of cage that slips into the airbox tube as the air filter slips around the outside?

I recently encountered a guy having a similar problem. Turns out he was just trying to tighten an air filter down to where the carb tube comes into the airbox. There was nothing inside to resist the clamping pressure so it would just pop off.

The K&n filters are metal where it clamps. Theres no way for it to collapse.

i had this problem a few years ago, i put tape around the metal insert to make it fit snug. I had a hard time taking it off so I know it was air-tight, and NEVER fell off again..

The UNI I bought to replace my K&N wasnt loose at all..

so what holds it on? Doesn't seem like a clamp would serve any purpose if it couldn't squeeze the filter to the airbox tube.

the filter goes on the inside of the air boot and the clamp goes on the outside of the boot.
