2005. im the draining tank and cleaning carb today. It also needs a new battery. Kinda scrambling to get it running for this weekend because we have a big trip planned and its always nice to have an extra quad for someone to ride.

so i cleaned out the carb thoroughly and put in some nice fresh gas and she wouldn't fire up. It wasn't getting fuel to return from the fuel pump, so i bypassed the pump and ran the hose straight from the tank to the carb and she fired right up!
took it around the block a few times then decided to pull off the fuel pump. That thing was caked with dirt and bugs and other crap, so I'm hoping it still works after i clean it up really good.

how much harm would come from completely bypassing the fuel pump just for this weekend? I'm a little worried it might not be fixable.
