Trying to figure out how much the 90 Modified machines weigh.
I understand a JB is around 280 pounds with a 90 engine
JB: 275-280
Roberts:
Pitster: 275 - 285
Fisher:
Cobra: 250 -275
DC: 270 - 280

Any feedback would be helpful.

I'm not bored slap outta my mind, so I'm not gonna weigh them. But I noticed while moving qiads around the other day that our cobra was just a little lighter than the jb. I was actually surprised. My guess is that the cobra is within 15 to 20 lbs lighter.

We have a Pitster/4 play mod in here w/ a KTM 85.
W/ a standard Pitser gas tank 3/4 full- (which is a heavy tank even empty 4#'s)
Maximum RPM beadlocks (4)
Pitster axle ( little heavier than RPM)

It weighs 286

After doing a few of these now, I'm confident we will be able to shave off about 10# on the next builds.

Wills cobra with a kx65 engine weighed right at 250 with hiper beadlocks (very heavy wheels), 20 inch front tires and 18 snowhogs on the rear. Ryan's DC mod weighed between 270 and 280 depending on the tire and wheel set-ups. We had solid rear axles on both. Quite a bit could be shaved off with a ti rear axle set-up.

I saw a can am ds 450 that looked good in minesota they are lighter than all those pre mention bikes and you can buy a new one for 4500 at your local dealer take the motor out put a 85 in and go racing with the left over money. Crazy right!!!

It sure is crazy! These pre-mentioned builders know that we parents will pay top dollar for little Johnny to beat little Billy. It's a sad day when I can buy a race ready 450 for less than a 90 Mod.
I spoke to Jim and he sent me a video and some pics of that Can-Am RM85 Mod. That thing is BAD-A**! He said it only weighs about 10 pounds more than a JB. But keep in mind, it has a 3 gallon gas tank too. And he has not even tried to lighten it.
Geat idea for that 13 to 15 year old that has the right physical stature.
For what it's worth though: there is alot of fabrication to make a little engine fit in that chasis. Not just a simple process.

Tracy covil can convert any 450 you want . For half the price , I think he may know a thing or two about mods since his son is the fastest kid ever to lay a leg over a quad this century that is.

That's funny you best stick to being a cop cause the way Logan breaks down you would starve as a wrench. No bull that can am was sweet the pilot seemed young but quad handled sweet. . Hey do they have a crispy creme up there or is it dunkin donuts. I love the smell of swine oink oink.

Yep, that's the one I talked to you about. It'd be a smart purchase for sure. I need to find a cheap rolling chassis. I'd drop a 150 Honda in that sucka!
And I know what you mean about the key. LMAO! And yep I'm the custodian of the evidence room as well. I got one of the two keys baby! The weight always is less by the time it's to be destroyed........hmmm.
