Im getting a 416 kit with 10:1 comp, already got a full hmf system, kn filter, 15 tooth front sprocket an 36 rear, and 22 inch tires. i do alot of trail riding and hill climbing, some short and some so tall that the motor bogs down at max rev. Sand is also something im in alot, id like it to make its power in the earliest revs so i can rocket down one hill and right up another

Nope.

not with upped compression, worked bike and mods. It will trail off quite badly with the stage 1 cam in the upper rpms b/c its designed for a mostly stock quad. You want a stage 2 and trust me you will have plenty of power with it and it will be fine.

I have an 11:1 416 and it pulls HARD all the time. Also since when are people going slow much anyways? If our not in the throttle you need to learn how to ride better lol.

it would depend on if you want low end power and mid or mid and top end power. stage 1 or 2 depending on how you want your machine to run.

for your situation, gearing is very very tall and would benefit from having a stage 1 to pull you down low better imo since you want to have the hill climbing potential. just what i think based on what you have said you want. your gearing would indeed show otherwise with it being that tall.

your parts list is pretty basic for a build no matter what setup you run. even with the full exhaust, there still isnt much going on thats going to require a stage 2 imo.

Missed the part about the very tall gearing lol. Steves right then, you want a stage 1.

If I were you unless you truly need the clearance, running 22in tires with such tall gearing is not worth it imho.

If anything you need to go up 1 sprocket tooth in the rear or down one in the front so you have enough torque-you have plenty of speed but no torque with your setup.

I was thinking of 22in rear tires, maybe that will help keep the front end down lol

22's help with keeping the front end down compared to 20's, I noticed the big difference when me and my brother pull wheels in the yard. Also on some trails it doesn't hurt to have extra clearance...figured I'd throw in my $.02

ok. i have it geared higher because sometimes we ride at this excavating place which is really sandy/ loose pack stuff. i did it so i dont just bite into the sand when im just bogging around, and it still has some major torque. enough to wheelie, climb tall hills, etc. and i figured with the upped compression and extra cc's, itd have even more. im just wanting it to pull a little harder and faster som i dont get left in the dust on takeoffs lol. i wanna make sure i get the cam right cuz if it isnt then there goes 200 and somethin dollars lol. and im getting the 10:1 comp so i dont have to worry about high oct fuel or the head studs stripping haha

Then honestly I would prefer a stage 2 if I were you. I have one with no issues, my buddys running 11:1 with a stage 1 and says its just ok-likes mine better.

I bought a stage 2 HC and was going to use it on my stock 400ex until I started reading on here. Later on I want to go 11:1 CR, but I'm still debating on boring out the motor. What is the max I can go with and without a sleeve?

426 is largest you can go.

Dont overbore it, a 406 or 416 is fine-compression is where you make the power not the bore size.

i was thinking about going 12:1 with hd head studs and a bunch of cooling mods and just get a bulk 40 gallon container of vp 110 fuel. would that be worth it with a stage 2 or would i be better off keeping it simple with 11:1?

Race fuel is $$$, Id stick with 11:1 for the pure fact you can get gas anywhere.

^Agreed. I would stick to 11.1 as well.

it the orginal poster, i would say to go with the sparks x1 cam seems to be the best cam out there for your low compression.

Can i run stock studs with a 11:1? i thought it was the highest you can go

I dont know where $200 buck is going ......But if thats what your paying for a cam then get the webbcams there way better for you.
