I think dirt wheels needs to do another article on the 250r vs 450r.

This time, use a stock framed (gusseted of course) 250r with full mods such as LT and what not with a healthy 330cc power plant. Put that up against a full blown new 450 race quad.

It would be an honest comparison of what people out at the tracks are up against on a 250r bike or a 450r bike.

Although i like the last write up DW had on the 250r vs 450r (they wouldn't admit they liked the 250r better, but said so in so many words) it wasn't an honest comparison for what these bikes are used for. Nobody leaves them stock.... There are much better quads to buy out there for basic trail ridding. (400ex/300ex...ect)

People mod these quads, most of the time for MX racing.

So lets see how a MX built 330PV R would handle against a built 450r on the MX track....

Any takers????

Thats a good idea, most of the tests are done out in my neck of the woods.I would allow my R to be in the contest.Would give me an excuse to go from a 310 to a 330PV...

It will never happen honestly. That article was so flawed anyway, can we begin to point them out???? That quad wasn't a 88 or 89 as they said, it was a mix of 86, 87 and 88/89 parts. I expected them to be more against the 250r than they were. Also, that article was something like HONDA WAKE THE 4574 UP!!!! WHAT YOU BUILT 20 YEARS AGO STILL IS BETTER AND BEATS YOUR NEWEST ATV. Now the 330r VS ltr, that was really against the 250r, that 330r had to be running really bad or badly setup to get that kind of reviews. Maybe they left the choke on to make it slow?????
