View Full Version : what engine coolant do u like?

Iv always ran regular old 50/50 mix antifreeze in my bikes but I kno a lot of people run engine ice or maybe another similar brand? I was just curious if there was really a diff from running one to the next? If so how much?

i prefer the OEM honda brand coolant. i've never had a single cooling system issue with it in any of my bikes; never needed to replace a water pump mechanical seal, and never over heated. so i figure why switch.

my main question and reason for asking is does it make ur motor run any cooler then regular coolant?? They claim it will make ur bike run 15-20 degrees cooler but this sounds kinda crazy to me! anybody ran reg coolant w a temp guage then switched to the ice??

I'm not sure about the cooling characteristics except my bike seems to run pretty cool, I think a lot of pro riders run it because they don't use coolant rezzies and it is Eco friendly and non toxic.. tree huggers like it too.. I just like the pretty color:blah:

I use Evans npg-r in everything. Its water-less and doesn't expand much. My bikes seam to run cool on it. The fan on my ktm dirtbike sure doesn't anywhere near as much w/ it. My atv's seam to run cooler also. You don't want to use it if you get cooler than 0 degrees, they sell a coolant for that. Its also 1/2 the price as engine ice.

I use the Toyota red antifreeze. I have never had a problem
