Well since my hybrid build isnt going anywhere soon i thought i would get a 450r hood to fit on a spare set of plastic of mine. Ive seen the question asked many times with no responce so i did it. Yes you have to cut the front of the plastic and no a 250r hood wont work after its cut. So far i have a generation x hood and a fourwerx hood fit up. I plan i getting a first or sencond gen. quadtech hood to see if any of the existing holes line up. I plan on making some templates for anyone thats interested in doing this. I got the look i was after opinions are welcome.

Can you post some larger pics? Those are hard to see... looks good though! There is another bike on the calender that has done this too.

wooo I like that! I've been trying to track down one of the old quad tech scooped hoods with the billet inserts for mine but I'm digging the way the 450r ones look! :macho

Can you use the 450r headlight now? I've never seen a 450 in person so I'm not sure if it mounts to the hood or the frame itself

im not sure how the light mounts but I bet it wouldnt be hard to mount up

I bet you could use an 06 up headlight.
I had a thought about it.
I think from a side shot, it would look like the factory airdam...kinda

And the light mounts to the frame, with brackets that also support the fender.

I was thinking the same thing man, I know the 04 lights deff wont work with those style hoods but that year may.. it wouldn't take much to make up some brackets up really quick that mounted maybe off the frame or even off the front plastics ya know.. anything is possible with quads! specially all us 250r riders we pretty much are all making our own stuff as we go anymore anyways!

Not to rain on anyone's parade, cause I could be way off here, but I believe the 450r light is DC current and 250r electrical is AC current.??. so they are not compatible. You'd need a rectifier to make that work.

The 06 and up light would be the closest, and it mounted to the frame.

That was going to be my next question too, which really that isn't a big deal just gotta find another head light that'll work thats all, anyone have some ideas beside those really really expensive billet ones lol :D

Ricky stator makes a single phase ac regulator that would convert power to dc and run the 450r light
