Fuel Tank - differences in years

Is there any difference between the years of gas tanks? I can get the rear holes lined up but the front one does not.

Not really, some subtle differences on OEM tanks.... I've run all sorts of tanks, from various years, OEM, IMS, and Clark. On my IMS 3.6, I elongated the holes on the rear bracket to push the tank towards the rear slightly to take up some gap bw. seat...

The threads for the cap are different, but i dont know about the mounting holes.

mounts should be the same, the 86 maybe 87 have this gasket/trim piece attached with 3 screws on each side of the tank. their is some difference between the 87 and 89, but I forget now what it is.
