fast valve adjustment question

Ok I'm in the garage about to a adjust my valves. The write-up I read said nothing about doing it while the motor is hot but I feel like I should. Should I let it idle a bit before I adjust them?

should let it cool, those specs are for cold motors, the gap will be quite big if you adjust them when warm.

the metal expands when warm and contracts back down when cold. the gaps close when warm, the valves will open and close properly since the metal expands just about that much when warm.
