Try adjusting your idle screw that should do it

tried, doesn't work, and recently gas started leaking out of the carburetor

Is it coming out of the drain tube ?

This sounds crazy but try standing it straight up. Hold it there for a minute and set back down. See if that will help it. The float bowl could be stuck and sometimes that will help seat it back on the needle.

You could just tap on the float bowl with a screwdriver handle and see if it stops leaking...lol.

But yeah that would indicate a stuck float/ceet.

you got a stuck float, open the carb bottom up and check the float. See if it moves freely and check/clean the needle. Also take the float off and pour some gas in a can or GLASS jar. If it floats your fine-it sinks you need a new one.

the gas is leaking out of the tube that is to the right of the idle screw

Ya thats it there is a screw right there in the carb not the idle turn that in but not to tight see if that stops the leaking same thing happened to me this morning

OK so i stopped the the gas leak but now it started smoking, i know its not the piston rings bcuz i just changed them. any idea what it could be. could it be bcuz of the air filter?

White smoke is condensation or common on a freshly rebuilt motor and you did say you rebuilt it right ?

i didn't really rebuild it, just change the piston rings, honed the cylinder, and put new gaskets and seals in and i did everything right. my dads a mechanic and checked to make sure i did everything right
