Stock vs XC (Hare Scramble)

My son and I are new to racing XC. We want to prepare my sons LTR for XC racing. My thought is that his quad should be about 47"wide. Can you tell me the most cost effective way to my his quad more narrower? Thank you

4/1 wheels helps and is a necessity
im not a suzuki guy
but i heard z400 hubs will bring it in some,
other than a few tricks like that
its XC axles and A-arms
I Like the walsh arms myself, i rode a ltr with them and they handled really good,
I ride a honda myself currently and its all Laeger and It took me about a year to get it how i liked it and that LTR with the wash just seemed to be right on target out of the gate
