i also am having a tuff time deciding on a 416 or 425... i know im stock right now but i just got some some mods... i think im gunna do my bore kit when i get my cam. I also would like to know whixh gave more top end. Also Which is going to be more reliable?

I would go with the 416, one reason is you could go to a 426 if you have to bore it out more. I would also say a 416 will rev faster but the 426 will make more power. I would think the power won't be much diffrent between the two if the rest of the mods are the same.

It didn't want to start when it was cold but now I don't have any problem starting it. I put an Edelbrock carb on it and it will fire right up now. if you put a bigger pilot jet into it it may help it. I have a lot of top end. In a flat out drag with a stock raptor we are real close at the bottum but as soon as I hit top end of my power band i pull away from him farely fast.

Go 416, it revs a little quicker and the 426 only gives about a half horsepower more. Unless you are going to get major head work, oversized valves and the whole kitten kabootle, go with the 416 because its cheaper, more reliable and goes like hell!:devil
