We had a lot of parts and pieces laying around to build most of a quad so we decided to throw a TRX450R motor into a spare yfz frame we had cut apart.

Spent the majority of my winter break helping my brother put this thing together. Missed the first ice race weekend waiting on motor parts for over 3 months.

We race the CWIRA circuit in Wisconsin for ice racing.
Our old yamaha quads handled awesome and our honda motors hauled the mail so we took the best of both and started building this baby!

Bought a do-it-yourself powdercoating kit in November and went to work.

Frame: Custom cut/lightened yfz frame/subframe
A Arms: Lonestar Titanium +2 +1
Swingarm: Roberts racing -2in.
Steering Stem: +2 ASR-FX
Axle: RPM Aluminum adjustable +3/+3
Swaybar: Rath

Body:
Plastic: Laker Custom
Graphics|Seat Cover: QuadTech
Fuel Tank: yfz....also custom built aluminum tank not shown.

Its pretty light and has a low center of gravity, and weight distribution is 48% front/52% rear without a rider!

I see you tried to raise the shock tower's like a walsh... ur problem is u made the adjustment strait up and down which changes your leverage ratio everytime you move it,

I have seen this quad in person and it a work of art very well put together

very true about the shock mount. We weren't too worried about the leverage ratio to start since we were working with something completely new. We didn't even have time to send out the shocks to get built to spec anyway before the season started.

We are planning on building another frame with different mounts for next year as soon as I can find a spare yfz frame.

how long of a shock does it use? just a stock yfz link in the back? about how much did you raise the towers?

towers raised an inch when fully raised up, and moved towards the center of the frame a bit as well (17" shock for now, have 3 other sets to try out including fox float evols and PEP ARC 8-click 17.5").
It uses a stock 06 geometry yfz link in the rear.
