I know Kirk Kennedy. Helluva rider. Did you just buy the plastics from somebody? I ask because they were on his Walsh 426 hybrid. I was going to buy it from him, but my buddy Jerry bought it instead & was gonna TT race it. It came with MX & TT setups w/ PEP shocks. He ended up selling it to someone up north somewhere.

yeah, I know.... I thought i posted some where on here that i was putting it together with the parts that i have ( running the front custom axis and +2's for the time being untill i find +4 walsh for Narrow frame, not Wide cause then they would just be +3)

so for the time being its gonna be more a woods set up bike....

Just curious, but why is the rear end junk?

mx Eli

the reason why it would be junk to anwser your question is most walsh 250r frame's (correct me if im wrong) are cr500 linkage and trying to pair a no link shock with a no link frame screws leverage ratio's up

Looks good man...you will have to tell me how your cylinder turns out and what it costs to get it done. I want to send mine out soon. Roller looks real nice so far.

Some of the very earliest Walsh frames were no links I believe.

06-12-2011, 08:39 PM

mx Eli
06-12-2011, 08:41 PM
walsh yzf's and 250rs had cr 500 links

some erlier crf's also have cr 500 but most have a crf link

well i got the swinger and shrouds in the mail today, im kinda stumped though, any one have a extra CR swinger that could post a pic of the link mount on the swinger?

say the tube is like 1 inch and then where the link would sit, there isnt like a plug with like a 10 mm hole in it for a bolt its just open all the way though (1 inch od.) but its just on the one side. (chain side) and there are gaps all over the place on it, nothing is fitting up tight like it should. I know someone will come and ask " Well did you replace all the bushings and bearings?"
my answer is Nope! I'm doing that after PC and that will be done in a week or so after i get it together to the point i can ride it and make sure everything is working right then it will be pulled apart and PC'd.

I also found out that this swing is for a YZF hybrid and not a 250r, I was hoping it was a 88 89 style but could i still use it? I'm sure im gonna have to shim it. I don't want this to be like a hybred where your making all kinds of crap just to make it all line up and stuff i want it to fit with out spacers and all that junk

Waiting on a spacer plate to be made and some nerfs and then get all the mounting of the rear end to be tight. and I'll be ready to ride it.
