Handguard question+ footpeg mods?

Im looking into getting handguards mostly for protection from trees not so much roost. For those of you that run non wrap around handguards do they give you any protection from actual impacts or just roost? The wraparounds are alot more expensive and i run fat bars so id need adapters.

Also rather than making two threads id like to ask if there are any cheap/free mods anyone knows to get wider foot pegs on a 400ex? I already have nerfs so don't really want to buy all new nerfs just for wider foot pegs.

I have the none wrap around guards. As far as little trees and vines they do good but bigger limbs and things of that sort they don't help much other than keeps it from eating up your hands and mashing the front brake are clutch lever.



As far as your foot pegs I think the 450r foot pegs will bolt right up to your 400 (450r pegs are just a little wider) if I'm not mistaken and it's way cheaper than blingstar are any other aftermarket foot pegs.

I have heard about the 450 pegs fitting. Ill have to see if I can rig them up to my current nerfs.

i have white brother pro pegs they go over the stock pegs and there only 35 bucks as for handguards i run powermadds they keep roost of pretty good:)

I run the tusk brand handguards that wrap around and love em. I have in a few instances banged em into a tree or two on some real tight off camber trails and it doesnt even faze em

Think im gonna go with the tusk wrap arounds.

i made some 1/2" extensions for the fronts and the outsides to make a kick up.
