Im just kinda iffy on buying a 2-stroke i have a 02 400ex and its so reliable im affraid if i get that 250R im gonna be wrenching more than riding. For you people that have bought 250R how often do you blow them up. Whats the best way to keep a R up and running strong???

I just bought an 89, but I haven't taken it out yet. The 2 guys I ride with have them and don't seem to have any problems with theirs. They usually have theirs started and ready to go before I can get my cold blooded 00 400ex to turn over, and they don't have to charge their a battery in it the night before a ride. As long as you don't buy something that has been trashed, you should be alright. Just keep in mind that the simple maintanance is much more important on the r. My friends 87 250r has had the same piston in it for over three yrs. I wouldn't try to haggle too much because he can get $2000 easy for that bike, someone will pay it and I'm sure that he knows it.

The R looks like this but with a blue frame and no stickers
well i dont know if this guy really knows that because ive looked for alot of R's but never the right price id say this one just by lookin at it would go for 3,500 or more its worth a try im gonna tell him i have 1500 in cash hopefully he will take it.
