Hi everyone,

I have a built 250r and was considering a hydrolic clutch after being spoiled on my dale. I have not seen any of these on race bikes. Are they not any good or? What are your opinions of them?

I dont see why the wouldnt be. I love mine!
Unless u get a steel braided line with it the stock one could be hit by rocks or get cut in some way and then ur not gonna finnish.
But its awesome. Deff a good investment

I race with one on mine. I love it and will NEVER go back to a conventional cable setup.

cables are more reliable. if you had a 150 roller bearing perch a new cable and hinson set up for every race you would run a cble too.

Umm ok!:huh

What says cables are more reliable? Cables can brake very easy, Ive had a freind have one snap on the way to the starting line, lets just say, he ended up on his butt..LOL I would think the stainless braided line on the hydro would be more reliable.

i didn't mean to come off harsh there, i just reread my post

maybe works connection pays more money for people to run there stuff.

alot of high dollar street bikes run the hydro clutch also(ducati
tl1000r(i think) and a few others

it will be a reality soon for alot more models

I know they put them on Cannondales, I was wondering about the 250r's though. I have not noticed any pro racers using them. Has anyone heard otherwise?

well, a hydro is more work to upkeep, and a small hole in the line = loss of pressure, a small hole in the line of a cable is just a ruffer pull

heres my take....i think the pros bikes and quads dont run them because they have a team of mechs. to adj. there bike for them. on a hyd. you cant feel it start to engage, so i would think cable would be better if you had top of the line stuff and a new cable every race. btw i have a hyd. because i dont like adjusting clutched and the easier pull

my guess would be that the cable isn't nesacarily better but just more durable like a few others said. not just the line thats easy to mess up but then there is the whole asembly on the clutch lever its self. lots of differnt little rubber diaphrams and stuff.
