3+2 or 4+1 Hipers?

Stock offset is 4+1.5, so 3+2 will be 1/2" wider per side. 4+1 will be 1/2" narrower per side.

might be a noob question, but i dont care. what do the numbers mean? i understand how the 2nd number would be the distance from outside of rim to where it bolts up, but whats the first?
or is my guess even right?

Just like what Can Am has done to their Ds 450s.
look under ds 450, and click on advanced concept 1. its the steering system.

I'm assuming that a 3+2 would be best for me since i don't want it any narrower than it already is.

4+1 on stock width is too narrower, in my opinion.
