What would be a good affordable set of a arms for a stock shock 01' 400ex. Im not to experienced with the length of a arms or the brand thats best suited for it. Pretty sure the guy who had it before me welded the shock mounts back on and lets just say there welding skill was that of an 8 year old girl.

any aftermarket arm would pretty much require different shocks to get the same stiffness. the valving changes when the lengths of the arms are increased because of the added leverage on the shock. the stock shocks will work alright but will be quite a bit softer.

full flights are decent along with most of the heim joint ones. they will be cheaper than something roll design or houser which do not run heims with spacers.

take the <break> out of the line when you put it into the browser tab to get it to work.

those will probably be the cheapest or something pretty close to the cheapest you will find.

woods/xc~ guys usually run +1s which is 2" wider

mx~ +2s (with 2:3) or +3(with 4:1 rims to stay 50") making 5" with the 2:3s or 4" with the 3:2s. roughly since some rims are different than others.

for general riding +2s with some 450r front shocks are pretty nice and would be my suggested setup on a budget. I will run it one day on mine.

hope that helps you out a bit. ebay will be the best place to find different styles of arms, then you can decide from there.

I agree, +2 a-arms with stock 450r shocks. Easliy attainable if you do your HW for under 400 dollars. The. You can get the shocks revalved down the road..
