I'm rebuilding my 86 250r and am wondering what is the best setup for my rear shock. Stock link, no link or CR 500 link. Would like to hear the pros and cons. Also need shocks for my build, got Houser plus 2 long travel arms in front and stock swingarm out back. let me know if you have some for sale. Thanks for the info.

You can only use stock link and I believe someone used a no link on a stock frame but they had to use a certain swingarm. Can't quite recall, hopefully someone will chime in. Cr500 link is only used on aftermarket frames.

all depends on what you do, i know the no link handles the really big hard hits well, i had one for a really long time hard part is know what swing arms hold up and what ones crack, that pick is not a true no link, you can run a no link with a stock chassis but it would be done with a houser style swing arm that has the mount point on the top of the swing arm, I had an after market chassis that i sold to a member on here that ran the other type of no link.

thats the style i ran, if you can see it
