How do i disengage the throttle cable from the lever mechanism to replace it? Thanks

i know i need to loosen up the adjusters, then i guess i need to get the nut off inside the housing, looks like theirs a locking mech. to keep the nut in place

yeah, there is a washer with little ears or wings on it that are bent around the nut to prevent the nut from backing out. just use a screwdriver to pry the ears/wings away from the nut and remove the nut. just remember to bend the ears/wings back to a flat part of the nut when reassembling. I have a clymer manual that goes through the process step by step, so if you need more help let me know. Also, i believe the throttle return spring in there is under tension, so be careful not to let that go flying.

Thanks i was trying to bend the tab but its being a pain, i have the honda manual and i cant find what im looking for.

yeah, they can be pretty tough to get out of the way. Try needle nose pliers, if you can get them in there...

Yeah i got the new cable on, now i just need to line up the spring and the lever now lol .

you don`t need to bend anything. disassemble around the ears. reasemble with the new cable. two small adjustable wrenches are all you need.
