insomnia caused by anxiety is one of the dumbest things I can think of. My wife suffers from it, and I think it's just idiotic.

My philosophy is: If it's keeping me awake, then I'm going to get up and deal with it. Laying in bed, worrying, doesn't help anything.

Sometimes you can't turn it off, and coming from someone who worries about stuff that does not even have anything to do with me, I so wish I could.

Words to live by right there. Nothing worse than waking up the next morning, looking over and saying, "dammit, I did it again"

I did it two or three times with one of my ex's. Absolutely no recollection of seeing or talking to her the night before, then waking up next to her. One time, I could have swore she just let herself in and curled up next to me in bed.

Back on topic, I lose lots and lots of sleep, then it will get to me and I will get a good nights sleep. Last night, I got at least 7 hours which is very very good for me. Its usually 3-4. Othertimes I will be in bed for a full 8 hours, but toss and turn and end up only 1 or 2 hours of actual sleep.
