piston rings 400ex

i need new piston rings for my 2002 400ex. its all stock and not bored out. what kind of rings can i buy. if i buy wiseco rings will they fit or do i have to buy the stock ones form the dealer. im asking because i think someone told me that your piston rings and your piston has to be the same brand, is that true?

Yes, its a good idea to use the same brand rings as the piston.

You can get new rings from the dealer, they are relatively cheap. then all you do is hone the bore a bit and slap it back together.
