I have a Noss cool head on my engine, I took it off yesterday because the gasket was leaking. When I removed it I found a big mess and need to know what I need to put it together right. The previous owner or whoever worked on it had the inner o-ring in the head, no outer. A paper gasket and a metal gasket and it looks like a whole tube of permatex. I tried calling Noss machine and they no longer make this head or remember what type of gaskets it used, but there is two places for o-rings. If I can find o-rings, is that all I need for re-assembly?

If the o-ring grooves are on either side of the coolant passages/studs, then just run orings. No gasket, no rtv mess.

Before you run it though I would check compression and squish first.

Check here for orings. www.mcmaster.com/#catalog/117/3453/=ca0ity
