440 Kit

Hey guys

I was wondering who had a 440 kit in their EX? How much did it cost? Do you like it? Is it worth it? Would you recomend getting a 440 kit or a lesser kit? Do you have to run different fuel? I would just like some info about this and any help is always appreciated. Thanks. :D

I got about $800 invested in my engine, not counting the carb. That includes the 440 kit, cam, springs, port, polish and labor. As far as I am concerned it is worth every penny. You will see an improvement with any of the larger bore kits, but the low end power you get out of the 440 is unreal. As far as gas, that will depend on the compression ratio of the piston you get. If it is under 11:1 you can still use pump gas anything over that will require race gas.

Yes you will be able to notice a difference....in wich in your favor... i would definately recommend changing the rods if you decide to do this wayyyyy worth it ....the stock 400ex rods are junk...move up to a carillo or hotrod and youll be set...
