Clutch Cables

Curious about finding a longer clutch cable...
Heard the 91, 92 250x cable will work and is longer..
Wondering if anyone knows another make that is longer than stock 400ex...
Or if anyone has had someone make a custom cable? Company and lengths?

I run a 250x cable... seems plenty long... do you need a longer one? why???

Just kind of curious if there was another model that had an even longer cable or if someone knew a good company that made custom cables that were pretty reliable...needin to reroute around my hmf headers that are in all the worst places and just want to make sure I have plenty of room to keep it out of the way of my headers without lookin completely tacky or gettin in the way of anything...

The 250x cables are a good enough lenght to run down beside the oil tank and down the frame till it shoots over to the clutch lever... i don't have a pic but i'm sure others do... i don't know anything about custom cables tho...

I put an 05-newer 400ex clutch cable on my 99, it was 2-3 inches longer allowing me to run my risers and bolted right up!

I know a 87 250x clutch cable is longer than a stock 400 to to what you are saying. You say you need to reroute around your hmf headers... I have an FMF power bomb header and I have my stock length cable routed through the header in the factory route and have NEVER had a problem with my cable melting or getting burned...

92 250x oem cable is all the length you need to get away from your headers. just did it last weekend. been through two motion pro cables and just got that 250x OEM cable and was surprised at the difference of the cables. The OEM cable seemed much thicker on the sheathing and the cable.

Yeah, I am currently waiting on my 250x cable to come in...never heard any problems out of the 250x cable, just trying to go over all options if not satisfied with the 250x....

I used to run the Powerbomb hearders and never had an issue either...These HMF just seem to be in all the wrong places...
