I'm trying to decide between building a 330 stroker or to do a 350X conversion.A 330 will be a few hundred bucs cheaper but there is way more potential with a 350X motor.

my cousin used to race a 350x 20 years ago. the thing was bored to 432. launched off the line in 2nd and front end still went up. man if he had that engine it would be in my 300 right now. but i plan on building a xr650r/300ex with my friend. ill still have my 300 though. and he'll have his

dont rip on honda's in a honda site- by the way banshee's arnt the best thing built either,I live in MN and I have a modded banshee for sale right now, just cuz all the maintinance took over the fun in riding, I'm guessing everyone dosn't like to fix stuff all the time even though banshee's do have great power.

guys 350x's are timebombs waiting to go off...it uses the same cylinder bolt pattern as a 300ex...u can actually bolt the 300ex cylinder onto the 350 or vice versa..look at a stock 350x sleeve..it gets very very thin at the bottom ...u might could bore them 40 over stock....the 300ex has more potential to me..i say dont go no more larger than an 80mm piston on a 300ex..and stroke it...that would be the setup..also use a tc sleeve and stuff..and bore out the cases...with this setup the sleeve stays a constant size...with the FST it gets smaller at the bottom like a 350x since the cases arent bored out

I have to disagree that the 350x is a "timebomb waiting to go off." It is true that Wiesco only makes a .040 over piston for the stock sleeve. I have had 2 350x's in 250x frames and the only problem I have had with either is the timing chain wore out on me because of the compression I was running and the age of it. I have been running them for 5 years now. The one I have now is a 452cc and have not had any problems in the 2 years that I have ran it. The engines are just as reliable as any other honda motor out today.

burden...i kinda overstressed it i was just meaning the 350x isnt as reliable as the 300ex or 250x motor..thats my opion...but yeah i think when you bore one out and runnin the stock sleeve its a problem waiting to happen ..i just say that from my experience with these motors

Get a sleve from either powroll or TC and when you get it bore the cases as required. If you get a tapered sleve you will have problems with them going out of round and cracking the pistons. This has been my experience. Personally I feel that the 250X and 300EX have more potential then then 350X because parts are more readily available.
