Any 20" tires out there that run big... like closer to 21"?

Razr2/X-Rex? iRazr? HD? Kutter XC?

speaking of 21in tall razrs...lol.

I once saw a guy on a simulated offroad race, at a indoor arena, on a 400ex with 21in tall razrs, racing 450r's, win the race simply because his tires were taller. All the 450s had 18s or 20s and constantly got hung up in the log section and in the rock section. The 400ex just kinda rode over everything....lol.

With their superior suspension and their all around capability, they just couldnt beat a slightly larger tire.

Food for thought...lol.

That is pretty much the truth of the matter in XC racing up here... lol...

I "had" on the rear of my 450 the 20" GNCC's which are like 19.5" or less off the bike... and was having trouble through and exiting every woods corner that began to rut out later in the race where there was no other line or room to straddle.

It would start with me coming in and scraping the swinger skid and progress to where I would have to come in too hot and stay on the gas and barely make it out... and sometimes I didn't. I was basically skidding through the corners.... I'd hit the swinger skid, slide on it and end up on the belly skid too.

It sucked. Going to regular 20" Razr rears made all the difference in the world. Getting high-centered late in a race really sucked.

Right now I am just hunting some rears to go with a tall set of front tires is all. They are about 22.5" and a taller rear will make me a nice trail set I can use without adjusting my spring preload to level back out.

why not just run a 21" rear tire? I have the kenda gnarly 21'" rear. I race harescrambles and its nice to not really have to worry about ground clearance later in the race. I use them everywhere except mx. my combo is 22 razor fronts and 21 kenda rears

Yeah, I was all over those until they jumped to $100 a piece from $63 when I first started looking at them 2 weeks ago.

I thought those were pretty much a no-brainer over the 21" GNCC's... but now the Knarly costs a few dollars more. Grrr...

So I figured if I was looking at $100 a tire I may as well consider everything.

wow, 100 bucks a tire? thats nuts. I paid about 50 each like 2 seasons ago. Idk if it makes a difference, but they do wear really well and i like the way they handle. Ive done like 10 hare scrambles and a lot of trail riding over the past 2 years and really dont see much wear at all. Im figuring I can get another season or two out of them at least

if your having problems getting hung up in the races I would look into a better skid plate setup. the 450r rear brakes on the EX gives you about an inch of extra clearance. and run the smallest rear sprocket you can get, which is a 36T I think? and run either a single or dual sprocket guard and a rotor guard.

heres my setup.

If your looking for a cheap set of 21" check out the sedona bazookas a couple of my buddies have had them on their bikes for about 2 years , look like holeshot gncc, or a agressive tread razr. They were only about $60 a piece for the rears i think also
