Alright so i took out the 400ex today, went about 50 yards and (i kinda noticed my clutch was sticking a little bit since i have been riding but not really enough to amount to anything) my quad just reved up, like as if i had the clutch pulled in. It is still doing this. The clutch arm is moving when i pull in the clutch but not a whole lot. I havent pulled the crankcase cover off because i just put brand new oil in it and i really didnt want to have to drain it since oil is $20 for 5 quarts. I know i will have to pull the cover off eventually so i will do that tomorrow, but has this ever happened to anyone else on here? Also there is a "heavy duty clutch kit" on ebay for like $30 bucks and i was wondering if it is any good. Thanks.

id check it out and see how it looks. it might just need some adjusting to get it pulling far enough and releasing enough. inspect all of the parts in it, basket, steel plates, and fibers.

a good cheap kit is a tusk clutch kit with hd springs. great kit that alot of guys have had very good luck with for around 50 bucks.

Big tip, dont buy any kinda special quad oil or whatever, buy some shell rotella 15-40w. These quads love it and its 13 bucks for a 5qts.

im runnning quaker state right now 10w 40 but next time i change my oil since its gonna be getting hot i will probably step it up to a 15w or something just to try and keep it a little cooler. I will definatly try that stuff out, thanks for the tip buddy!

you only need 2 quarts at a time, so why not 4 quarts total for 2 changes?

just curious why you buy 5 instead lol

dads foreman takes like 2.5 with the filter change too so we usually just buy a 5 qt. jug

I will now need around 3 qts due to the larger oil tank :)

alrighty so my clutch arm was stuck up against my exhaust. that was my problem but i found out when i drained my oil, that my gas was getting mixed in with my oil, so i fixed that, and now i am wondering, I really want my rear end to set about 1-3 inches lower because i have those 22" tires and it feels like im on top of the world so i was wondering, if i adjust my rear shock spanner down, will it make it ride like a freakin horse and buggy or will it even lower it?
